Worldhealth organizations, advise the public that does not take this disease
and warning lightly and always remain vigilant and watchful for symptoms like
cough, fever, and difficulty in breathing. These symptoms may be, nowadays, caused
by new Novel Corona Virus COVID or SAR-CoV-2
This viral
infection takes 10 to 12 days to appear and maybe diagnose after 5 days when a
person is exposed to the virus. Here we will discuss how COVID-19 affects the
body.
COVID-19 INFECTION
According
to the WHO, the virus transmits through respiratory water droplets
from an infected person to a healthy person. When an infected person sneezes or
cough its respiratory droplets travel within the air for up to 4-5 Feet or it
may rest on any object, which when touch by a healthy person, may transmit to
him/her. The virus mainly enters the body through the nose but some researchers
concluded that it may enter the body through ears, eyes, and mouth. The
virologist also states that there are many things that still not known about
the COVID-19 but primarily it is established that the virus enters through the
noise and the virus is a member of the Corona Virus family.
COVID-19 SYMPTOMS
According to us center of disease control and prevention, the life cycle of the disease is 14 days, when
initially the symptoms appear. Initially, it takes 5-10 days for the symptoms
to appears, an average of five days. When the first symptoms appear and the
patient came positive for COVID-19, there is standard 14 days quarantine for
the patient. It is most likely that the infection can be immune in this period
by the body's immune system.
When
the virus enters the body, it starts infecting the epithelial cell in the
lining of the lungs. The protein on the virus attaches to the host cells begins
to replicate itself until it kills the cell.
This first happens in the upper respiratory system tract
of the human body like noise, mouth larynx, and bronchi
The patients start experiencing an initial or mild
version of the symptoms; dry cough, fever, back muscle pain, headache and
difficulty in breathing. These symptoms are the same as common flu that’s why
usually due to panic among the masses; people consider flu as COVID-19.
Severe
symptoms, like pneumonia, appears when the infection reaches the lower parts
of the respiratory system, alveoli. most of the cases show mild symptoms
because the body's immune system locked the infection in the upper respiratory
system, such cases require no hospitalization but quarantine is necessary to
curtain the spreading of infection. Those who have a weak immune system may
experience severe symptoms and immediate hospitalization and intensive care are
needed for them otherwise, they may die from this.
In severe
cases, when the infection reaches the small sack-like structure in the lung,
alveoli which pumped oxygen to the bloodstream, the infection starts killing
the cell and the immune cell also reached to alveoli and a fight starts between
virus and immune cells which cause choking of the alveoli and stops the blood
supply to other body organs mainly kidney, liver, and brain. It is a fight
between immune cells and viruses, if immune wins, body survives, if not, organs
damage and cause death.
Due to
low oxygen supply to the organ of the body in COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms,
are put on a ventilator to get an adequate supply of clean oxygen. The severe
symptoms are most common in those people who have a weak immune system like old
age, more than 60 years, people with respiratory disease and chain smokers.
The
prevention is more important than the cure that’s are; there must be social
distancing now a day because the virus attack is on the peak. The people with weak
immune must keep themselves in isolation and avoid any contact with the
infected person and regular hand washing. The preventive measure issued by WHO must be followed and conveyed
to other
COVID-19
is usually confused this flu and people rushed to already crowded hospital for
a checkup. if you are not in touch with anybody who just arrived from the area
which is affected by the virus nor there is any case in your area, then having
these symptoms are not COVID-19 but flu or just fear. Similarly, if you know
that you were in touch with an infected person and now you are also
experiencing the same symptoms, must visit the COVID-19 diagnose center and
test yourself for infection for you sack and your family sack
