LOCKDOWN IN THE WORLD
Almost
3rd half of the world population is restricted to their houses. The pandemic is
on the peak nowadays and Europe is its epicenter. The USA is also under huge
crisis, the death and spreading are so high that is not ever even imagine by
the authorities. The New York City that is the epicenter for the USA is under
lockdown for almost one month and at the time of writing the death toll is more
than one thousand a day only in New York.

Public
health term the lockdown as mass quarantine. When the people are restricted to
their houses and borders are closed down for any kind of cross-border movement
to stop the cross border movement of the virus is called mass quarantine.
Due to
the outbreak, many governments are in unrest. There is economic instability in
every country, where is a lockdown. The legislation is limited similarly; the
executive is not working efficiently. Many countries have passed corona relief
funds and bills to facilitate the people financially. The US government has
passed a two trillion dollar bill to support the economy of the country.
Many
courtiers are under the strict lockdown or quarantine, here is the list of few
countries and their strategies to curtail the virus.
UNITED KINGDOM
From March 23 the country is under complete lockdown.
Banned on the gathering of more than two people except for families, who live in
one house. All ceremonies are also banned except funeral.
People
can only leave their house for essential works like purchasing of food,
medicine and a one-time exercise or visiting a hospital in emergency cases.
The
situation in the UK is moving from worse to a crisis. Prime Minister Boris also in intense care unit due to corona. The whole country is in panic.
SINGAPORE
The Singapore prime minister also stated that people
should avoid unnecessary leaving from houses. Citizens should work from home.
The schools and offices of big enterprises are closed.
According
to the authorizes, “the checking system at the entry point to the country is
very efficient and we can identify the virus easily but the virus is still
spreading which is the evidence that the virus had already reached the country”

the situation was not so serious in Singapore but last week the number of cases
swelled up which concern the authorities and forced them to take strict actions
.
DUBAI AND UNITED ARAB
EMIRATE
The United Arab Emirates is under night curfew from 26
March and Dubai is under lockdown for two weeks from the said date.
The
orders are very strict for Dubai; everything is closed except food and
medicine. One member of the family is allowed to leave the home at a time. No
one is allowed to come out of homes even for pet's walk. Everybody needs to take
permission from the police for every long visit
.
THAILAND
The country
is under the emergency till 30 April, can be extended if the situation does not
come under control.
There is also a complete curfew
from 10 pm to 4 am. The curfew will continue till further orders.
The violators of the orders can
face two-year jail or 1200 dollars fine.
RUSSIA
Russia has closed all the borders and entry points. The
flights are only allowed to bring Russian to the country.
From 30
March, Moscow is under complete lockdown. The authority has announced paid
holidays. No one is allowed to leaving their houses unnecessarily. People are only allowed to leave their houses for purchasing of food and medicines.
Similarly, people are allowed for pets to walk up to 100 meters from their
houses.
27 other region of Russia has followed these steps of Moscow to combat the virus.
SOUTH
AFRICA
South Africa is under three weeks complete lockdown since
26 March.
In
South Africa, except essential business, soldier, and police, everything is
closed for 21 days.
President
Cyril Ramaphosa stated that “these actions would impact the livelihood and
the financial situation of the people but the delay in these actions would cause
lives of the people which are more important than anything else”
NEW
ZEALAND
New Zealand announced a 14-day essential quarantine for
those who came from abroad and one-month complete lockdown from 25 March in the
country.
The
lockdown will continue after one month if the situation remains the same.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand gave hope to the kiwis
and assured them that the government is with them in this crisis.
SAUDI
ARABIA
Saudi Arabia has started locking down its major cities
from 25 March, first two holy cities, mecca and Madina, then Jeddah now all the
major cities went into lockdown.
There
is strict order for curfew from the king. All the airport and entry points have
been closed for any kind of entry except food and supply chain.
People
are only allowed to visit grocery shops and hospitals in the morning time.
The
schools, malls, mosques are closed. Moreover, the authority has banned the umrah
and asked the Muslim countries to not made hajj agreements with the pilgrim
until the situation comes under control.
INDIA
The world's largest lockdown order was issued in India on
March 24 in which 1 .3 billion people were asked to remain at home.
Prime
Minister Modi asked the people to maintain social distancing and adopt
preventive measures to stop the spreading in the country.
AUSTRALIA
On 23 March
lockdown was announced in Australia. After a cabinet meeting on 24 march
Australian Prime Misters Morrison states that “we are imposing lockdown but the
the school will remain open if the parent wants they can keep their children at
home”.
However,
on 31 March further restrictions were imposed, when South Wales became the
epicenter of the outbreak in Australia. The ceremonies are now banned in
Australia and the educational institutions are now using distance learning.
CHINA
China locked down 20 provinces for almost two months. The
Wuhan, where the virus first appeared on 23 January, was kept in quarantine for
more than six weeks. The streets of Wuhan were deserted and nobody was seen
there for six weeks.
The WHO
also recognized the bold steps by the Chinese government and people. China
efficiently isolates the people and kept them in their houses by fulfilling all
their need like food and medicine. Due to these reasons, the new cases are now
very low in china and the number of recovered patients in china is very high.
ARGENTINA
In Argentina, the lockdown was announced on March 21 and
will end on April 13, if the authority does not extend it.
The
lockdown is ‘preventive and compulsory’ and no one is allowed to leave the
houses except for food and medical issues.
The
police are monitoring the areas and ensuring the strict observances of the
lockdown orders.
ISRAEL
Israel was in partial lockdown since March 19 but now the
authority imposed complete lockdown. The authority clearly states that this
order is not a recommendation or advisory but a strict order to be followed.
No one
is allowed to travel through the cities. Guidelines will be made for the Easter
and coming Ramdam.
The
people cannot leave their houses except for extreme emergencies.
ITALY
A nationwide lockdown is in effect in Italy, the European
country that sees the highest deaths from the Novel Corona Virus. The sixty
million people are under complete isolation. There is a ban on the gathering of more
than two people but families living under one roof.

transport is opened but authority is making sure to stop unnecessary travel by
the people

lockdown went into effect from 10 March and is still imposed for an indefinite
period.
DENMARK
Denmark announced a lockdown on March 11 till April 13
the schools, restaurants, and malls are closed and there is a ban on the
gathering of more than ten people.
The
authority is now saying that after Ester the restricting may be lifted.
IRELAND
On
March 27, Ireland closed down all non-essential businesses and the government
appealed the people to observe the social distancing for the sack of their love
ones.
However,
the school colleges and other cultural institution had already closed by the
authorities on 12 March.
SPAIN
Spain
is also a widely affected European country from the virus. It is also the
second European country that has imposed a nationwide locked down on March 14.
The
lockdown is now extended to 25 April. The government orders the people not to
leave their homes but for banks hospitals and grocery shops. Only essential
workers will leave for work others will work from home.
FRANCE
On 16
march, the president ordered complete lockdown, closing all non-essential
businesses. On March 27, the lockdown was extended for further two weeks.
The
President Macron state that, “those who do not follow the restriction will be
punished”.
There
is also a ban on gathering and walking around outside the house.
GERMANY
In
Germany, many states are under complete lockdown on March 20. Bavaria was the
first state to announce the lockdown and now more than 16 states have closed
down all the non-essential businesses and churches.
There
is a complete ban on the gathering of people more than 2.
The Centre
government has now extended the lockdown to April 19.
